FoodClue (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates foodclue.app and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and any additional applicable terms. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, with updates posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.

Service Description

FoodClue is an AI-powered food-symptom correlation tracker designed for people with IBS and food sensitivities. The Service allows you to:

• Log meals via AI photo analysis or manual entry
• Track symptoms with structured check-ins
• Receive AI-generated trigger correlation analysis
• Get personalized safe meal recommendations based on your history
• Export your data or share reports with healthcare providers

Medical Disclaimer

FoodClue is a wellness tool, not a medical device.

• The Service does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or advice
• Trigger patterns shown are observational correlations, not medical conclusions
• AI-generated meal recommendations are based on your personal data history, not clinical guidelines
• Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making dietary changes
• Do not disregard professional medical advice based on FoodClue data
• In case of a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately

Our License to You

All Service content and materials — including AI-generated reports, analysis, recommendations, and interface designs — are copyright protected. You may download and print your personal data (CSV exports, PDF reports) for personal use only. No modification, reproduction, or distribution of the Service or its content is permitted without written authorization.

Your License to Us

By submitting content to the Service (meal photos, symptom data, onboarding responses), you confirm you are at least 16 years old and grant FoodClue a royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use submitted content solely for:

• Providing the Service (AI analysis, correlation, recommendations)
• Improving the accuracy of our algorithms (using de-identified, aggregated data only)

We do not claim ownership of your health data. You retain all rights to your personal information and may delete it at any time.

AI Processing

The Service uses AI models (Anthropic Claude) to analyze meal photos and generate insights. You acknowledge that:

• AI analysis may contain errors — always review detected ingredients before saving
• Correlation analysis is statistical, not causal — a high correlation does not prove a food causes your symptoms
• Safe meal recommendations are based on your historical data and may not account for all health factors
• You should review AI-generated content before acting on it
• FoodClue is not liable for dietary decisions based on AI recommendations

Subscription & Billing

FoodClue offers Free and Pro subscription plans:

• Free — 30 AI meal analyses per month, symptom tracking, safe foods list, meal recommendations
• Pro ($6.99/month or $39.99/year) — Unlimited AI analyses, detailed trigger reports, Symptom Patterns, Safe Meal Plan, Food Combinations insights, doctor-shareable PDF export, and priority support. 14-day free trial included.

Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period. No refunds apply to partial periods. Pricing may change with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.

Registration & Accounts

You must provide accurate, complete registration information. We may suspend or terminate accounts if information appears untrue, inaccurate, or incomplete. You are responsible for password confidentiality and all account activities. Notify us immediately at support@foodclue.app of any unauthorized use.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer the AI analysis algorithms
• Submit false or misleading data to manipulate analysis results
• Share your account credentials with others
• Scrape, crawl, or automated-access the Service beyond normal use
• Attempt to bypass the free tier analysis limits

Disclaimers

All information, products, and services — including AI-generated reports, trigger analyses, meal recommendations, and safe food lists — are provided “as is” without any warranties, express or implied. FoodClue disclaims all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Trigger correlations, safe food assessments, and meal recommendations are based on your self-reported data and statistical analysis. Results vary by individual, data quality, and consistency of logging. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any AI-generated analysis.

Limitation of Liability

FoodClue, its officers, directors, employees, and agents are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages from Service use, including but not limited to:

• Adverse health reactions from following AI-generated recommendations
• Incorrect ingredient identification from meal photos
• Missed trigger patterns due to insufficient data
• Data loss or service interruptions

FoodClue's total liability does not exceed the amounts paid for the Service in the 12 months before a claim.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access at any time for Terms violations, non-payment, or other reasons at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We retain your data for 30 days after termination, then permanently delete it. You may export your data before termination from Settings.

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of California. Disputes are resolved through binding arbitration under American Arbitration Association rules. If any provision is found invalid, remaining provisions continue in full force.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
